New support launches for Wyre Forest businesses

Businesses and start-ups in the Wyre Forest can now benefit from a new, multi-million pound support package being run in partnership with local authorities in Worcestershire.

£3.9 million in grant funding is on offer across the county and over 600 businesses and 200 aspiring entrepreneurs are set to be supported by March 2025.

The support will help businesses to start up, scale up, grow, innovate and achieve net zero ambitions.

Available to eligible businesses includes one-to-one bespoke guidance, mentorship, coaching, facilitated peer-to-peer support, workshops, decarbonisation reviews, events and match-funded grants.

Recognising the importance of local delivery, launch events will be hosted across the county week commencing 18 September. This is the perfect opportunity to find out more about the new support programmes and ask questions.

The event for Wyre Forest businesses is being held on 18 September at Hogarths Stone Manor Bromsgrove Rd, from 8.30am to 10.30am.

Also attending the launch events are the Worcestershire Growth Hub and Worcestershire County Council’s Skills Team who will provide further information about the business support available.

Wyre Forest District Council and Worcestershire County Council are urging businesses to take advantage of the new support and to attend the launch events.

Councillor Dan Morehead, Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration, Planning and the Green Agenda at Wyre Forest District Council, said: “I am thrilled we are working in partnership to boost the level of support available across the county. It is a fantastic opportunity for businesses to access support and advice, specific to their needs. I urge entrepreneurs and business owners to take advantage of the support packages available.”

The new package of support is part-funded by the UK government as part of the UK Shared Prosperity Funding via Wyre Forest District Council. Funding has also been provided by Worcestershire County Council, which is delivering and managing the business support programmes on behalf of the local authorities in Worcestershire.

Councillor Marc Bayliss, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Economy, Infrastructure and Skills, at Worcestershire County Council, said: “I am thrilled we are working in partnership to deliver a full package of support to businesses.

These initiatives have been carefully designed in partnership to complement our local growth priorities. The support is set to accelerate economic development, stimulate job creation, and pave the way for a prosperous and dynamic business landscape in the county.”

“I strongly encourage, entrepreneurs and business owners to join the launch events happening across the county and take advantage of this fantastic support.”
