If your business is in Wyre Forest district, £1,500 funding support is available to help you take on an apprentice. The Apprenticeship scheme supports apprenticeships in accounting, business administration, manufacturing, management and social media with particular emphasis on level 3.
If you are interested in recruiting an apprentice in the Wyre Forest district, contact Beth Newton, Employment Engagement Co-ordinator at Kidderminster College. Alternatively contact Worcestershire Apprenticeships for further information, including the training frameworks available and help with costs.
For Bromsgrove and Redditch businesses and residents, there is an Apprenticeship Support Scheme open to businesses enabling them to take on an apprentice of any age. Priority will be given to applications from companies in manufacturing, digital/creative and IT, life and health sciences, construction, logistics’ leisure and tourism and the grant should be applied for before the apprentice has been appointed.
The grant can be used to support apprenticeship applications at any level, but priority will be given to Advanced levels 3 and 4.
Grants meeting the eligibility criteria are approved on a first come, first served basis subject to availability. Companies applying should be less than 250 employees and located in Redditch Borough or Bromsgrove District, employing no more than two apprentices. The apprentices themselves should also be resident in either area. The grant does not affect the business being able to apply for the National Age grant if eligible. Further details are available - contact the team at NWedR or call 0845 601 5953.
