Hagley businesses light up the village in blue!

If you’re off to collect a takeaway meal or pick up a picnic from the deli in Hagley, you will witness a village all lit up in blue!

The blue lights campaign is to honour the NHS, key workers and everyone who is playing their part to help others during the Coronavirus pandemic.

The initiative came about through a WhatsApp business community group set up by Bromsgrove Town Centres manager Cheryl Welsh.

Cheryl, from NWedR said “The group is self managing and it has come into its own during the Coronavirus pandemic as businesses and organisations keep in touch on everything from business support and advice to where to get blue light bulbs!”

Estate agent, Andrew Hipkiss has championed the blue light scheme an encouraged all the shops in Hagley village to go blue!

Andrew said

“The businesses in Hagley work closely together to make our village a great place to shop and visit. At Christmas we go to town with our lighting displays and we thought a ‘blue light’ theme was a great way of celebrating the NHS and key workers during the pandemic.

There’s no doubt, the Coronavirus has been very challenging for all businesses, so supporting a worthwhile cause as well as each other is a very positive way of coping and getting us through.”
